Although the image shows :15 for the time, this actually indicates the time remaining in the cool down portion of the workout. I started it off with just under 2 laps at 8.5, then dropped to 8.4 in lap 3 and down another tenth to 8.3 before gunning the last 200 meters at 9. Not only did I beat my mile, I shattered my old record by 21 seconds.. WOOHOO!!
I decided to do a victory jog in celebration:
